ECHEA is a non-governmental, independent, and international quality assurance, rating, and accreditation agency working to improve quality assurance standards of educational organizations all over the world. With its global network of experts, ECHEA grants accreditation to universities, colleges, schools, educational institutes, vocational institutions, distance learning centers, online courses, corporations, professionals, qualified individuals, instructors, and students.

Regional accreditation bodies have dutifully evaluated education providers on a regional scale and granted them Primary Accreditation. However, the rapid growth of globalization calls for a global entity that can evaluate them against internationally proven standards of education and grant them an internationally recognized Secondary Accreditation. ECHEA provides international and independent accreditation to the education providers to serve as secondary accreditation, enhance the entity´s regional accreditation, and assure stakeholders that the educational program, policies, and procedures of the institute, university, and school are up to the international standards of quality. ECHEA´s International Accreditation represents an education provider´s commitment to delivering quality that is on a par with the global standards.

Legal Status:

ECHEA is a non-governmental, independent, and international quality assurance, rating, and accreditation agency based in EU, USA, UK working to improve quality assurance standards of educational organizations all over the world. Therefore it uses EU, USA, UK higher education regulations and directives when reviewing an applicant. In some cases, ECHEA can use the applicant country´s regulations, too. Also, ECHEA gets support from its local partner institutions (universities, state agencies, associations, etc) when accrediting a course/program that has a curriculum.

Legal Notice and Disclaimer:

ECHEA grants accreditation to educational institutions, vocational institutions, distance learning centers, online courses, and corporations, and certification to professionals, qualified individuals, instructors, and students. ECHEA can´t give any titles or degrees to the accredited institute´s students, or can´t give authorization about the diploma, work, opening an office, etc. Also, ECHEA does not control or oversee the documents, certificates, diplomas, titles, degrees, rights, and authorizations issued (given) by the accredited institution. All rights and legal liabilities of these belong to the institution that carries out the transaction. ECHEA periodically checks the educational quality of the institution and the up-to-dateness of the curriculum of the course/program and reports to the relevant institution.

How are ECHEA Agents Approved?

Initially, agents who are already known to work to high standards will be invited to join the association. Every agent also completes an application form, submits a profile and signs an ethics agreement with ECHEA. All agents must submit two references from colleges or universities which they represent. A committee of ECHEA members approves membership applications and monitor performance and adherence to the ECHEA code of practices. Details of all accredited agents will be forwarded to the relevant government and VISA offices worldwide and to educational members of ECHEA. All ECHEA accredited members will be entitled to show the ECHEA kite mark.

How is ECHEA Marketed?

  • All universities, colleges and English language schools are sent information on ECHEA and have the opportunity to join as an educational member
  • Students are informed about the network through recruitment exhibitions, educational websites and recruitment publications such as China Student, India Student, Campus UK etc.
  • All ECHEA members display the ECHEA quality kite mark on letterheads and promotional material
  • Through the ECHEA website and educational members website
  • In major student recruitment magazines and websites worldwide
  • Editorials in major student publications
  • Different University newsletter and website

How is ECHEA Financed?

ECHEA is wholly financed through membership fees paid by agents and educational members. ECHEA does not receive any direct payment from students for educational services provided by ECHEA. If universities or other Educational Institutions and Language Schools are offering any special scholarships or bursary these may be highlighted on the ECHEA website.
